Editors' Top Pick
Do we ever rate a diet pill positively? Yes. Although it's rare, there are a few diet pills that meet our strict recommendation requirements. Why don't we recommend Cellucore D4? We're looking for clinically proven ingredients, money back guarantees and low prices. Apidexin is our favorite. You can read our review or go to the official site.
Cellucor D4
D4, a much-advertised diet pill made by the company Cellucore, claims the following benefits:
- Attacks Deep Fat Deposits
- Skyrockets Caloric Burn
- Provides Explosive Energy
- Suppresses Appetite
- Improves Mental Focus
There is always at least some difference between what is claimed and what is delivered by diet products, so I thought I’d give you quick overview of where the product matches up and where it falls short of giving you what you need to cut your fat and boost your self-image.
The D4 Formula
The main ingredients in D4 , with little variation between the “Extreme” (more caffeine) and basic varieties, are the following:
- Emblic Myrobalan (Indian Gooseberry) - An ingredient containing a number of antioxidants
- Caffeine Anhydrous - Stimulant
- Octopamine HCL- apparently a mood-enhancer.
- Evodiamine (Evodia Extract)- intended to reduce dietary fat up-take. Not supported by science in human applicatoin.
- Willow Bark Extract- contains a chemical pre-cursor to aspirin.
- Yohimbine - intended to reduce fatty tissue but not supported by scientific evidence - may cause adverse emotional sid-effect.
- Ginger Root Extract- intended to help settle stomach nausea and uneasiness associated with above ingredients.
Though it doesn’t specify how much, it is assumed that this product contains quite a bit of caffeine (which is ridiculous that you have to make assumptions and they don’t just give you all the facts). As well, you have a number of anti-oxidants and several ingredients which have no real clinical evidence of helping to reduce fat. Basically, the main effect you are getting here is from the caffeine. There is nothing therefore revolutionary about the product.
The D4 Match up
What this product boils down to is a number of bold claims which are simply not backed up by the right ingredients. Though the company claims each one of the ingredients as a “thermogenic” intended to help you burn fat, there simply isn’t a lot other than the caffeine to help you do it. As for the bottom line, which for many people lies in price/effectiveness ratio, this product scores very poorly by expecting $80 for a bottle. I do not recommend D4.
