Endurox, one of the main labels from Pacific Health Sciences, is a new and somewhat unusual diet product.  Though it comes in three different formulas (Workout Supplement, Antioxidant Regenerator, and Electrolyte Replenisher), the Workout Supplement formula is the only one that contains an ingredient that I hadn’t seen before.   It claims to help you lose weight, getting the most out of your workouts by

• Building endurance
• Increasing fat metabolism
• Maintaining healthy immune function

What is curious about the product is that it only contains two active ingredients.

1.       Vitamin E – 200% DV

2.       Ciwujia – 1200 mg

At first I was thrown by this ingredient.  I mean, how could I have never seen this before?!  Well, after a little research I realized that the company simply is using a phonetic spelling of the Chinese name for what is known as “siberian ginseng”.  It is currently illegal to market it as “ginseng” since it isn’t ginseng per se, but its scientific name “eleutherococcus senticosus” would still have been recognizable.

As for what this actually does, the studies on e. senticosus are still pretty inconclusive.  It is claimed to have similar effects as ginseng in boosting energy and even potentially reducing cholesterol, but there is no conclusive clinical evidence for this.

Endurox Excel Bottom Line

The bottom line with this product is that there is just not enough research to recommend it as a good option, especially since it contains only one unique active ingredient.  It sells for $25 a bottle, which is more expensive than the time-tested Chinese ginseng.
