Red Stinger Black Label: Does it Live Up to the Hype?

One of the things we love about the diet supplement Red Stinger Black Label is that it doesn’t come right out front with BS advertising.  NRG-X Labs state frankly that Red Stinger Black Label is no “miracle pill” and that you’re going to have to work to lose weight, but that it will help you:

• Raise your resting metabolism
• Curb your appetite
• Increase your energy

These are great benefits and can certainly help you lose extra weight as you’re exercising, but the question that Red Stinger Black Label doesn’t answer as clearly is if it contains significant doses of anything other than caffeine and stimulants to make this happen.  We already know its no miracle pill but it does have some interesting ingredients that would only make the price worth it in the right concentrations.

How Does Red Stinger Black Label Work?

Based on a hefty dose of caffeine as well as stimulants like synephrine, phenylethylamine and DMAA, the primary way Red Stinger Black Label may work is by stimulating your central nervous system, thereby accelerating your metabolism temporarily and giving you a boost of energy. Over the course of the day, these stimulants may help you burn an extra few hundred calories.

As for the rest of the ingredients, they seem to be designed to help further improve your workout performance.  They make a big deal of the ingredient quercetin which, according to some anecdotal evidence they cite from Pepperdine University and the US Department of Defense, can increase endurance and even VO2 Max.  Unfortunately, NRG-X Labs doesn’t give the source of these quotes or information about any studies performed.  As it is now, the most reliable studies we have on quercetin suggest that it may be effective as an anti-inflammatory agent.

Red Stinger Black Label Side Effects

Due to a dose of 375 mg of caffeine per day plus an undisclosed amount of other stimulants, Red Stinger Black Label may be too strong for those who are sensitive to stimulants.  Even if you use caffeine regularly, NRG-X Labs warns you not to take Red Stinger Black Label for more than 8 weeks at a time with at least a 4 week break in between.  You should also not take this diet supplement if you are pregnant or nursing.  Common side effects may include:

• Nausea, headache, upset stomach, constipation, anxiety and difficulty sleeping.

Clearly caffeine is the only dosage we can rely on for sure, but there is sure to be at least some stimulant effect from the proprietary blend. What we can’t count on is whether or not any other ingredients are in a useful amount.  Green tea is a great fat burner and source of antioxidants, for instance, but it might account for 300-400 mg of this blend, leaving little room for anything else to be effective.

Should You Try Red Stinger Black Label?
