Slim Bomb Capsi: Does it Live Up to the Hype?

The British diet supplement Slim Bomb Capsi, in keeping with the more reserved British culture (compared to the in-your-face Americana we’re all so proud of), doesn’t get too crazy with its claims:

• “May help maintain a normal appetite”
• “May help maintain a normal metabolism”
• “May help maintain a healthy weight”
• “Recommended by the Daily Mail and many celebrities”

Okay, so to put that in perspective the company is claiming that Slim Bomb Capsi “may” work as a diet supplement, they paid for a magazine to endorse it along with some unknown celebrities?  So that’s not really a lot of hype, but considering the price they’re asking for this formula (40 pounds sterling or $64 US) you’d hope for a little more confidence than “may help.”

How Does Slim Bomb Capsi Work?

All that aside, taking a look at the Slim Bomb Capsi, it actually appears to be a simple, reasonably effective and safe diet supplement. It supposedly can burn an extra 280 Cal per day without you having to change anything in your activity level.  Obviously if you’re serious about weight loss then you’ll be exercising anyway, but 280 Calories amounts to an extra small serving of french fries.  It would take about 30 minutes of jogging to work that off normally.

The downside to Slim Bomb Capsi formula is that for all we know about it, because of the proprietary blend we can’t really say for certain whether it contains clinically proven amounts of its main ingredient, capsicum extract.  Capsicum is a generic term for a hot pepper, which can gently elevate your body temperature and accelerate your metabolism to burn those extra calories, but in too low a concentration it won’t help too much.  Caffeine and green tea are likewise a useful combination for weight loss, but this is a weak dose of green tea.

Slim Bomb Capsi Side Effects

Though they don’t list the exact concentration, we expect the caffeine content to be between 100-150 mg, which is the amount you’d find in a cup of coffee.  This shouldn’t be a problem for most people, but if you’re sensitive to stimulants you should avoid taking Slim Bomb Capsi in the afternoon to avoid sleeplessness. Niacin supplementation can sometimes cause skin flushing (redness) but the dosage here shouldn’t cause a problem unless you are taking other supplements with Niacin.

As you can see, the patented blend probably didn’t take a whole lot of effort to develop.  Between caffeine and capsicum, it should have fairly potent thermogenic effect. Since caffeine is listed first, this usually means its in the biggest concentration.  The rest would be mostly capsicum, which contains the active ingredient capsaicin, the chemical responsible for the spiciness of hot peppers.  This can mildly elevate your body temperature to burn extra calories through heat. In the end though, Slim Bomb Capsi is not a very strong diet supplement. Even green tea is in a weak dose.

Should You Try Slim Bomb Capsi?

Slimming Solutions sells Slim Bomb Capsi direct from their website for the equivalent of $64 plus another $17.50 in shipping costs (to anywhere outside the UK).  While we can see Slim Bomb Capsi working well to burn some extra calories, there are no clinical studies to tell us how much for sure.  Furthermore, it only has a few inexpensive ingredients, so there is just not way its worth the money and especially not without a satisfaction guarantee. Nothing against the Brits, but there are better diet supplements in the homeland.
