Editors' Top Pick of 2012
Do we ever rate a diet pill positively? Yes. Although it's rare, there are a few diet pills that meet our strict recommendation requirements. Why don't we recommend Smart For Life? We're looking for clinically proven ingredients, money back guarantees and low prices. Apidexin is our favorite. You can read our review or go to the official site.

Smart For Life
Smart For Life Diet Cookies
There is a popular chain of weight-loss centers with a number of locations around the country called Smart For Life. These weight loss centers can be very helpful and supportive, or very pushy and expensive. Smart For Life seems to be one of the better ones and has real doctors over-seeing the different regions, but getting involved in that decision is up to you. As for diet products though, I wanted to check out how their “cookie campaign” checks out in terms of value.
Eat Cookies, Lose Weight – Is it really that simple?
The Smart For Life website and the centers sell a number of snacks including cookies, muffins and shakes which are intended to be meal replacements. In the words of the company itself:
“These diet cookies are made with perfectly balanced fruits, proteins, fiber and vegetables for a meal you can carry anywhere. No preparation, no points, no preservatives, hunger, cravings, GMO’s or Trans-fats and they are 60% Organic!”
Only 60%? Couldn’t they just go the whole 100? But seriously, this sounds pretty good. What’s next?
“Eat six Smart Cookie Meals a day in place of your breakfast, lunch and any snacks and lose up to 15 pounds a month…Five weeks is the ideal time to see how powerful this program is in losing weight and changing your habits automatically.”
Other than the fact that habits don’t change “automatically”, these don’t sound so bad. The whole meal-replacement idea isn’t really bad but its basically like saying “replace more food with less food.”
Smart Value?
As for the cookies, which can be bought in a 5 week supply for $280, you are looking at $8 per day and you still have to buy your dinner. This isn’t necessarily cheap considering you are, in fact, getting much less food than you would normally eat. The shakes are even less impressive, coming in packs of 10 for $30. This is a lot to ask for a shake. In general, the value seems to be the downfall of the Smart For Life products. Considering its only 60% organic, I think they’re asking too much
